The paper’s principal purpose is to study the role of dental deprogramming as an important and necessary stage of the treatment of patients with impaired centric occlusion and resulting deviations in the temporomandibular joint. Findings of the study of special literature made it possible to refine the deprogramming objectives including relaxation of chewing muscles and alignment of centric occlusion. It has been shown that efficient diagnostics simplifies selecting of the most efficient deprogramming method
