In modern warfare the gunshot wounds make up the bulk of sanitary casualties. According to the general classification of the military surgical traumas based on etiology the gunshot wounds are categorized into bullet, shrapnel and mine explosive, and the wider the armed conflict is, the higher is the share of shrapnel and mine-explosive wounds.
